Parent Child Program

The Parent-Child Program has been established to assist parents and their young children (newborns - 4yrs) with a variety of childhood, parenting and family difficulties through practical advice and support.

The Day Stay Program services families who are guided through 2 infant feeds and 2 sleep periods. Day Stays Units are provided regularly in Shepparton and fortnightly in Seymour and Cobram.

The In-Home support component of the Parent Child Program provides a visiting service to the families’ home to assist with establishing a routine, feeding or settling problems, sleep disturbances (mother and baby), toddler behaviour problems with emphasis and support provided for:

  • Mother or child with a disability;
  • Multiple births;
  • Premature infants;
  • Adolescent parents;
  • Mother or child chronically ill;
  • Isolated/sole parents;
  • Mothers with Post Natal Depression.

The staff works in conjunction with Maternal and Child Health Nurses, Paediatricians, GP’s, Maternal & Paediatric wards and other universal agencies.
