The overall objectives of FamilyCare’s Recreation programs are:
• Provide meaningful respite for families through recreation based and enjoyable activities for children and young people with disabilities.
• Build on & encourage development of child/young person’s independence and living skills though accessing community based activities, cooking and personal awareness.
• To develop & enhance the child/young person’s social skills though new friendships and experiences.
• To improve community awareness for the needs of people with disabilities and their families and to promote opportunities for inclusions.
A wide variety of assisted recreation programs and social activities, developed according to client needs and preferences, are offered and may include;
